COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s soccer hits the road to take on undefeated Brown on Thursday evening in Providence, R.I. The match will kickoff at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+
- This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
- The Buckeyes are coming off a solid week which saw them post a pair of shutouts against Dayton and No. 18 Texas A&M.
- After being ranked No. 22 in the first ranking of the year, the Buckeyes fell out of the rankings in week two and are now back at No. 22 in the third ranking.
- Ohio State is now 3-1-1 on the season and a perfect 3-0-0 in road matches.
- Brown enters the week undefeated at 4-0-0 and is receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Top 25. The Bears have beaten Albany, Rhode Island, Central Connecticut State and Hofstra while allowing only one goal.
- Senior captain Talani Barnett was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Buckeye defense to a pair of shutouts. The two opponents only registered three shots on goal for the week. She is the first Buckeye to be named B1G Defensive Player of the Week since 2018.
- Emma Sears scored a pair of goals last Thursday at Dayton and leads the team with three goals this season. The Dublin, Ohio native has 16 goals in her career.
- Graduate transfer Olivia Sensky notched her first points as a Buckeye in the win at Dayton when she assisted on the first two goals.
- Peyton McNamara also scored twice at Dayton last week, marking the third two-goal game of her career. Those were her first goals since May of 2021.
- Ohio State head coach Lori Walker-Hock is in her 26th season leading the program. She is 274-189-55 as the Buckeyes’ head coach and has won a pair of Big Ten regular season titles.
- Sunday, the Buckeyes return home to host Senior Day against Kent State. The program will recognize Talani Barnett, Kayla Fischer, Kitty Jones-Black, Maddy Lowe, Katherine Robinson, Emma Sears, Olivia Sensky and Emaly Vatne.
