Snyder’s First Career Goal Lifts Ducks

Boise State

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Jordan Snyder scored the first goal of her career in the 78th minute as Oregon rallied for a 1-1 draw with Texas Thursday night in front of 493 at Papé Field.

“We played disciplined,” said head coach Graeme Abel. “To be a disciplined unit like that and then to create those chances, that’s a good team performance.”

How it Happened: Texas (2-1-1) scored in the 20th minute on a deflected ball in the Ducks’ end and outshot Oregon 11-1 in the first half. But the Ducks (1-0-3) turned the tables after halftime, sending five shots at the Longhorns’ net.

Oregon’s patience was rewarded with Snyder’s equalizer. Freshman Ainsley Fink, making her first appearance as a Duck, collected the ball on the right side near midfield. She then chipped the ball 20 yards up the middle to Zoe Hasenauer who settled the ball at her feet with a perfect chest trap. Hasenauer pivoted and split the Longhorn defense with a one-hopper that Snyder punched past Texas goalkeeper Savannah Madden from 10 yards out.

“It started with the back line, and then Zoe got it, and she played a perfect ball to me,” said Snyder. “Zoe is an amazing player, so I knew she was going to give me a perfect ball and all I had to do was put it in the back of the net. So, I give all the credit to Zoe and the team.”

Leah Freeman made six saves in goal for the Ducks.
