August 26, 2022 – Major League Soccer (MLS) – Minnesota United FC News Release
GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – For the second week in a row, MNUFC is hosting a team from Texas. This time, the visiting Houston Dynamo present a much different challenge than Austin FC. While Austin sits near the top of the league standings, Houston find themselves in dire straits at the other end of the table. The Loons will look to avoid a letdown and keep their run of form which includes a 12-game streak of goals scored. Both Minnesota Argentines, Fragapane and Reynoso, head into the weekend with a five and four game point streak, respectively. The Loons will be primed and ready to take advantage of their opponent’s weaknesses as they seek to collect another W from the Lone Star state.
ADRIAN HEATH ON THE PERFORMANCE AGAINST AUSTIN FC
“I think we’ve played better lately, but we played against a really good team who make life difficult for you. They’ve got good players, certainly in attacking positions. They control a lot of the ball. They have a lot more possession than a lot of teams when they come into Allianz [Field]. Overall, delighted with the result and so pleased with the effort of everybody connected with the group.”
DJ TAYLOR ON THE MENTALITY OF THE GROUP AGAINST HOUSTON
“Like I said before, just dominate the competition. We’re at home. We need to push the gas. We need to make a statement again about how we’re going to play at home, especially with us getting three points. Playing on the front foot, pressing, making teams get out of their comfort zone when they’re here at Allianz [Field]. Especially with our fans, they have great support. It’s just about dominating them and being better in every aspect.”
OPPONENT BREAKDOWN – HOUSTON DYNAMO
Since the last time we played Houston, things haven’t gotten better for them. Despite some decent performances from Hector Herrera, the Dynamo have dropped four of their last five games, including a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of the Philadelphia Union. There isn’t a whole lot for Houston fans to be happy about right now, aside from the fact that Sporting KC’s terrible season is keeping the Dynamo out of last place … for now. With just 26 points in as many games, the 2022 season is shaping up to be one to forget for El Naranja.
