Newcomer Goalkeeper JD Myers Signs First Professional Contract with the Chattanooga Red Wolves

CHATTANOOGA, TN. – The Chattanooga Red Wolves are thrilled to announce the signing of goalkeeper JD Myers to a first team contract. Transaction pending league and federation approval.

A native of Herriman, Utah, Myers played his youth soccer for La Roca, a top-tier youth soccer club in the state of Utah. Upon completing his two years with La Roca, JD transferred to New Mexico State University where he played for the school’s affiliated UPSL team UDA from 2020-2022.


When asked what signing his first ever professional contract meant to him, Myers said that “Signing my first professional contract has been my main goal since I was kid. It is an unreal feeling, and I am beyond blessed. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to finally live out my dream of playing professional football.”

Club President and General Manager Sean McDaniel praised the Red Wolves’ strong goalkeeping unit and lamented the importance of investing in player personnel saying, “Our goalkeeping has been very strong lately and it continues improving each and every week. Adding JD Myers provides another quality goalkeeper and arguably gives us the best goalkeeping roster in USL League One. We will continue investing in our player personnel as we fight to stay at the top of the table and battle towards winning the league title this season.”

With Myers Joining the club as the playoffs draw near, he says his goal is to “help in whatever way possible to ensure that when playoffs come, we are ready to go and hopefully progress farther than we did last season! I’m going to work hard every day to help this team finish the regular season on a high.”

JD expressed his excitement to meet the fans and be a part of the best atmosphere in USL League One at The Den saying, “I can’t wait to meet the fans and get to work at CHI Memorial Stadium. I know the atmosphere is amazing and that’s due to the fans and I can’t wait to experience it!”
