Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was pragmatic after his side failed to win for the first time this season with a 3-3 draw with Newcastle United, stating “everyone is going to drop points”.
City led early from Ilkay Gundogan’s strike but fell behind 3-1 after goals from Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson and Kieran Trippier.
But Guardiola’s side responded within six minutes of Trippier’s free-kick goal, with Erling Haaland firing one back on the hour.
In the 64th minute, Bernardo Silva levelled after getting in behind the Newcastle defence from Kevin De Bruyne’s pass.
“We have to live these situations, that’s why the Premier League is so difficult,” Guardiola said.
“Everyone is going to drop points and weve dropped the first two but considering how we behaved when we were 3-1 down to get to 3-3.
“We were able to score goals in a few minutes, just like happened against Aston Villa.”
The result means City have seven points from three games, with Arsenal on top with the only remaining 100 percent record.
Fellow title contenders Liverpool have drawn their first two games and play Manchester United on Monday, with the Red Devils having lost their first two.
Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by Leeds United on Sunday too, while Tottenham have also managed seven points from three games.
On the game, Guardiola added: “It’s really good for us to live these kinds of experiences.
“I told them at half-time that we need to live this. We were 2-1 down, lets see how we are as a team.
“The second half started well but we conceded a brilliant goal. We kick off after the third, we attacked and we showed that we were there.
“We score two more goals and in general we create a lot of chances, one-on-ones against Pope. England has an incredible goalkeeper there.”
The Spaniard also confirmed Nathan Ake has suffered a groin injury, forcing him to be replaced early.
