August 19, 2022 – Major League Soccer (MLS) – Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL – Undefeated in its last six games, CF Montréal (13-8-4) will host the New England Revolution (8-7-10) this Saturday at Stade Saputo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm (TVA Sports, 91.9 Sports, TSN 690).
Following a historic 3-2 win over the Houston Dynamo last weekend in Texas, the Montrealers will be looking for their 14th win of the season, which would allow Wilfried Nancy’s men to further close the gap between the Bleu-blanc-noir and the Philadelphia Union, who sit atop the Eastern Conference with 48 points.
Saturday night, the Club will also be taking the opportunity to honour its former captain Patrice Bernier, who was inducted into the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame on June 9.
Montreal has an overall record of 10-14-3 against the visitors. At home, the record stands at 6-7-2 with a goal difference of 0 (24 goals scored, 24 goals allowed). However, the Montrealers have suffered six back-to-back losses to New England, the longest active winning streak by one team against another in MLS.
Forward Kei Kamara has netted 10 career goals against New England, one of three teams against which he has done so in regular season play. There are only three players in MLS history who have scored more regular season goals against the Revolution.
New England, meanwhile, sits sixth in the East after 25 games and will look to further solidify its playoff berth on Saturday. Like their opponents, New England is on an undefeated run, having not lost since July 16 against Philadelphia (2-1).
This will also be the second consecutive match against a Canadian club in four days for the 2021 Supporter’s Shield winners, who drew 2-2 with Toronto FC on Wednesday night at BMO Field.
