CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicago Red Stars fell 1-0 to San Diego Wave FC.
KEY MOMENTS:
11′ A yellow card is awarded to San Diego’s Abby Dahlkemper after she took down Sarah Luebbert with a tackle. A free kick comes to the Chicago Red Stars right outside the Wave’s box. 21′ Another free kick for Chicago and a yellow card for San Diego is distributed following a nasty collision between Chicago’s Ava Cook and San Diego’s Naomi Girma near midfield. 27′ San Diego’s young Jaedyn Shaw finds the back of the net following a turn over by the Red Stars and series of well-placed passes by the Wave, putting them on the board. 57′ The Wave are struck down to 10 players after Dahlkemper is booked for her second yellow of the night after a tackling Mal Pugh during a scoring opportunity. 68′ Alyssa Naeher contains the ball and makes a great save, stopping San Diego from increasing their lead off a free kick. 82′ San Diego’s Belle Briede is shown a yellow card after a dangerous collision with Chicago’s Danielle Colaprico GAME NOTES:
