Everton retain interest in signing Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White despite having a £25m bid REJECTED… and they face competition from Crystal Palace, Southampton and Nottingham Forest

Everton remain interested in signing Wolves’ England Under-21 International Morgan Gibbs-White, despite already having had a £25million bid rejected. 

But the Toffees will face competition from several Premier League sides if they are to land their man, with the likes of Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Southampton monitoring the situation closely. 

Having impressed on loan at Championship side Sheffield United last term Gibbs-White looks set for a more important role at Molineux this season after Wolves rejected Everton’s opening bid.

Having made only one signing this window in a bid to improve on last season’s disappointment, Everton are keen to bolster their midfield with a player with Gibbs-White’s dynamism and creativity. 

The England U21 international played an influential role as the Blades reached the Championship play-offs, scoring 12 goals and assisting 10 more in 37 games, drawing the eye of Forest boss Steve Cooper as well as Frank Lampard. 

As Palace boss Patrick Vieira has already set about strengthening his midfield after the departure of Conor Gallagher, Gibbs-White could be an ideal replacement for the former Chelsea loanee.

But with his contract expiring in 2024, Wolves are believed to want to tie the England U21 international down to a longer-term deal amid interest from a number of clubs.

However, talks over a new deal have stalled of late, and if an agreement cannot be reached soon, Wolves may look to sell the player whilst they can still command a decent fee for his services.
