According to reports, Man City are ‘expecting an opening offer’ from Chelsea for their forward Raheem Sterling.
The attacker has grabbed 131 goals and 95 assists in 339 appearances for Man City since 2015.
Sterling was in and out of the team last term as he only started 23 times in the Premier League. He was still involved in 19 goals in the top flight.
Why does this transfer window feel so frantic and deranged? It’s way too loud and it’s not even July
The England international is out of contract in 2023 and he is ‘carefully considering’ his future, according to Sky Sports.
Chelsea are known to be admirers of Sterling and Man City are ‘expecting’ their rivals to make their ‘opening offer’.
Sterling ‘heads a shortlist of attacking targets’ for Thomas Tuchel. The German has ‘engaged’ with the player to ‘spell out his vision speaks to how serious Chelsea’s interest is’.
It is noted that the 27-year-old believes that he is ‘in the decisive phase of his career’.
Meanwhile, according to one journalist, reports that Brighton defender Marc Cucurella has agreed to join Man City this summer is “all crap”.
The 23-year-old had a brilliant first season in the Premier League with the Seagulls after moving from La Liga side Getafe for £15m.
His form saw him earn his first cap for Spain after being involved at every youth level from under-16s to under-21s.
And, with his reputation growing, Cucurella has been attracting admiring glances from elsewhere with rumours Pep Guardiola wants to make him a Man City player this summer.
Reports last week claimed that Cucurella, who was named Albion’s Player of the Season after making 34 Premier League appearances, had ‘agreed personal terms’ with the Citizens.
Football Insider insisted that Cucurella wants to ‘quit’ Brighton this summer with negotiations between Man City and the Seagulls at an ‘advanced stage’.
However, Andy Naylor, who is the Brighton reporter for The Athletic, claims that ‘it’s all crap’ with no agreements between the player and Man City.
Naylor wrote on Twitter: “I’m aware of lots of stuff in the past week on Marc Cucurella/Man City. He’s agreed terms, they’ve made a bid etc. As previously stated, it will require an irresistible offer. At this moment in time, it’s all crap. No bids, nothing agreed, no desire to sell.”
