June 27, 2022 – United Soccer League One (USL1)Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC News Release

WINDSOR, Colo. – Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC had four players named to the Week 13 USL League One Team of the Week: defenders Brecc Evans and Arthur Rogers, midfielder Marky Hernández, and forward Irvin Parra. This is the most Hailstorm members named to a single Team of the Week in club history.

The Hailstorm defeated Central Valley Fuego FC 4-1 on Wednesday, June 22, marking their first home victory in club history. It was also the largest margin of victory in a Hailstorm win. The week also saw a hard fought 2-1 defeat against the Greenville Triumph SC.

This is Evans’ first Team of the Week this season. He came through on the defensive end, recording seven clearances, five tackles, and four interceptions across both matches. Offensively, he added a pair of chances while completing almost 80 percent of his passes and winning 15 of his 21 duels.

A staple of Hailstorm lineups, Rogers also landed his first Team of the Week. He had the most chances created this week in USL League One with 10. He added even more on the offensive side with 13 completed crosses. On the defensive end, the Englishman added 11 recoveries, six clearances, and three interceptions.

Despite making both of his appearances off the bench this week, Hernández made his presence known on the field, coming up with an assist in each appearance and adding a powerful goal for his first of the season. The goal came as a result of Central Valley failing to clear the ball after a Northern Colorado corner. The ball found its way to Hernández, who took the strike with power, leaving the keeper with no chance to make a save. He finished the week with 93 percent passing accuracy in his 68 minutes on the pitch. This also is his first Team of the Week this season.

This is Parra’s fourth Team of the Week honor, after having been selected in weeks two, three, and five. The striker scored in both games this week, and add an assist against Fuego. His first goal came from a bad back pass by Central Valley that was tracked down by Hernández and squared to Parra, who was making a run into the box and slotted it home. His second goal also came from Hernández, off a cross against Greenville. The ball was whipped in and Parra headed the ball back across goal to pick up his second of the week. This brings him to six goals and one assist on the season
