GAME NOTE
-Midfielder Samuel Piette earned his tenth Canadian Championship start. He becomes the third player in Club history to reach the milestone since 2012.
Post-game comments from head coach Wilfried Nancy and Alistair Johnston will be available here.
WILFRIED NANCY
“I think we were quite good before their first goal. We had good chances but didn’t finish. In the second half, Toronto did well in offensive transitions. That’s why we conceded as much as we did. We gave up soft goals. We have to be more aggressive. We conceded on plays where they attacked us from the centre when we’re usually quite good defending that. It comes down to poor positioning and their accelerations in midfield.”
ALISTAIR JOHNSTON
“This is a local rivalry. We’re expecting to come out of the gates hot. There’s no better way to get your season back on track than beating your rival. I thought we started off fairly well. We just gave up a few weak goals and from there, it snowballed. But we’ll move on.”
