DETROIT, Michigan – The Detroit City Football Club’s June 18 home contest against the El Paso Locomotive will be broadcast on ESPN – marking the first-ever USL Championship regular-season fixture to air on the channel. The match was originally slated to appear on ESPN2. Kickoff remains set for noon ET.

The June 18 fixture will be City’s second nationally broadcast match – DCFC defeated Birmingham Legion, 1-0, on April 15 on ESPN Deportes.

Le Rouge currently sits third in the Eastern Conference in its debut season as members of U.S. Soccer’s second division. The matchup with El Paso will be the third of eight cross-conference fixtures for City this season.

Detroit City FC went 6-2-2 in its first 10 matches as members of the USL Championship, amassing 20 points which matched the Tampa Rowdies of 2017 as the best start in league history for a new member. Since 2017, nine of 19 expansion sides have made the playoffs.

DCFC strung together a nine-match unbeaten streak throughout March and April – highlighted by a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew in the U.S. Open Cup.

In the latest USL Championship Power Rankings, Detroit City sits fourth – matching its highest ranking of the year (No. 4 in the Week 8 Power Rankings).

Le Rouge will return to action on June 4 at the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. Last time the sides met, the Riverhounds notched an early tally before midfielder Maxi Rodriguez netted an equalizer from the penalty spot.
