Euro Leagues Wrap: Man City Move Clear, Milan & Inter Both Win

Manchester City took a major step towards clinching the Premier League crown over the weekend, while the Serie A title battle continues to entertain.

Manchester City moved clear in the title race with a 5-0 home win over Newcastle United on Sunday after Liverpool had been held to a 1-1 home draw with fifth-placed Tottenham. City’s sizable win also improved their goal difference to the point where they now have that advantage over the second-placed Reds.

Third-placed Chelsea blew a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Wolverhampton but they should have enough to hold on for a top-four spot, with Arsenal enhancing their hopes of Champions League qualification with a 2-1 home win over 10-man Leeds United. The Gunners can finish as high as third but will be focused on the top four, with a midweek North London derby with Tottenham next up.

Down the wrong end, Leeds United loss to Arsenal left them in the drop zone, with Everton winning 2-1 at Leicester City to move up to 16th. Burnley were beaten 3-1 at home by Aston Villa. Watford and Norwich City are already relegated, with the Hornets 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace confirming that.

The tense title race is going to go down to the wire, with both AC Milan and Inter Milan managing wins over the weekend to maintain the status quo.
