SAN JOSE, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes fell to the defending MLS Cup champions New York City FC 3-0 at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. The Quakes held NYCFC’s high-scoring offense off the board for 73 minutes before the home side was able to break through. New York City then added two more goals in the 78th and 88th minute, respectively.
The Earthquakes are now preparing to host the Colorado Rapids at PayPal Park on Saturday, May 7, presented by Audi. The match, which will celebrate the Quakes’ annual Mexican Heritage Night, will begin at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050, and 1370 KZSF.
