Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has lathered praise on RB Leipzig breakout star Christoper Nkunku, who is being targeted by a host of clubs including the Gunners.
Nkunku is developing into a very special player this season. The Frenchman has 30 goals and 20 assists in all competitions this term.
Indeed, he is the Bundesliga’s fourth-top goalscorer with 17 goals. RB Leipzig are currently fourth in the table and have been helped massively by his impact.
His displays have also put Leipzig on the cusp of their first European final. Indeed, Leipzig defeated Rangers 1-0 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday.
His upturn in form this season has been nothing short of spectacular. The 24-year-old had never scored 10 goals in a season before the current campaign, though he did provide 15 Bundesliga assists two seasons ago.
Predcitably, that rapid rise has seen him emerge on the radars of several top sides. Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool are all among the potential suitors.
Now, Arsenal legend Henry has given his compatriot some much-deserved praise.
“Yes I do love watching him,” he told CBS Sports.
Nkunku’s goals output has improved a lot this season, something Henry applauded him for.
“Goals and assists. He is just having fun this season. But he is adding goals this year,” he continued.
Indeed, Nkunku’s form this season has showcased him as one of the very best talents in Europe. And he has not only done it in one position, but shown himself to be capable in a range of roles – in attacking midfield, behind the striker, and on the wings.
Henry drools over Nkunku
The Arsenal legend’s praise for Nkunku continued to flow.
“He’s in the national team now,” added Henry. “His confidence… the world wants him.”
