Austin, TEXAS – The U.S. Soccer Federation today announced Q2 Stadium, home of Austin FC, as the host venue for the U.S. Men’s National Team’s Concacaf Nations League opening match against Grenada. The June 10 encounter at Q2 Stadium will kick off the USA’s defense of the CNL title, with kickoff time and broadcast information to be finalized in the near future.
Along with Grenada, the USMNT was drawn into Group D of the Nations League A with El Salvador. The U.S. will travel to face La Selecta on June 14 in San Salvador.
“The facilities in Austin are simply world class,” USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter said. “We have had incredible experiences there in the Gold Cup and World Cup Qualifying, and we think it’s the perfect venue to begin the defense of our Nations League title.”
After a thrilling 3-2 defeat of Mexico in extra time of the inaugural championship match, the USMNT opens its title defense during the upcoming June FIFA international window. The USA will host fellow World Cup finalists Morocco on June 1 in Cincinnati, with a second opponent and venue to be announced in the near future.
