Clubs in Spain and the Netherlands may be set to help out Manchester United after a move for Andreas Pereira to Flamengo reportedly fell through.
Pereira, 26, is currently on a year-long loan with the Brazilian outfit. He made 24 appearances and scored five goals in all competitions during the 2021 campaign. And the man with one Brazil cap to his name has enjoyed seven starts in 2022 to date.
It seemed as though things were progressing nicely for the midfielder to complete a permanent move to the Maracana. However, recent reports claim the South Americans will send him back to Old Trafford when his deal expires.
It has been previously suggested that a €10m fee had been agreed between the two clubs. However, a few high-profile mistakes by the schemer seem to have clouded the issue.
ESPN are reporting that a permanent move to Flamengo is now unlikely but other clubs are willing to step in. The clubs are not named but are said to be from LaLiga and the Eredivisie.
Whether they meet United’s asking price is another matter. Pereira is under contract with the north-west giants until the summer of 2023 but is unlikely to play for United again.

Pereira joined the Manchester United youth setup in 2011 and made his first-team debut in the 2014-2015 campaign. Having struggled to secure a starting berth, he spent time on loan with Granada in 2016-17 and Valencia the following season.
