Gary Neville has firmly predicted that Liverpool will win the Premier League title – and that may not be the end of a “special” season.
The Reds have already won the first silverware on offer this season, lifting the Carabao Cup in February. Furthermore, they remain in the hunt for the league, the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Indeed, Liverpool’s last match saw them defeat Nottingham Forest in the latter competition to secure another trip to Wembley.
Manchester City are their opponents in that fixture and the two sides are also battling for the Premier League. Liverpool are a point behind City ahead of a clash between the teams in April.
Speaking in an Overlap live broadcast, Neville insisted that he thinks that Jurgen Klopp’s side will triumph over City.
He stressed that Liverpool “cannot be in good form” amid the pressure of each match. However, the pundit backed the likes of Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota to pull them through.
“I don’t think Liverpool are in bad form,” Neville said. “I don’t think you can be in good form if you’re in the FA Cup, the Champions League, the Premier League and the Carabao Cup.
“You’re going to just get through games through resilience, quality, spirit and energy. I think they are unbelievably dangerous, and I think they’re going to do something pretty special this season.
