Ferran Torres is driving the idea of Barcelona snapping up a Man City star in a move that would necessitate a new summer arrival at the Etihad, per a report.
Torres, 22, returned to Spain in January when joining Barcelona on a permanent deal. The forward had shown a glimpse of what was to come in his future last season when bagging 13 goals in his maiden campaign in Manchester.
However, the lure of joining Barcelona was too great, and an agreement was struck with Man City for a €55m transfer in January.
Unsurprisingly, Torres has hit the ground running at the Camp Nou.
He has six goals and five assists to his name in his first 14 outings. Since the January window closed, Barcelona have embarked on an 11-match unbeaten streak, winning eight.
Torres’ absence has not bee a huge loss for City given the sheer wealth of options they possess in the final third.
However, according to Caught Offside, Torres is pushing Barcelona to sign a second City player, and that deal would leave Pep’s side light.
The outlet states Torres has recommended Barcelona forge an agreement to snag Oleksandr Zinchenko.
